This is fairly straight forward and some of the less conceptual work I did post Art School. I was living in Denver Colorado and all around me the landscape was being leveled in order to build the ugliest glass walled Bauhaus or post modern style buildings you could think of. What used to be a charming diner is now a Chase Bank cafe. Think about that for a minute.

I made these pieces when I was still in school. Although I was a student this is some of the body of work I made at this time that I stand by. These photo manipulation pieces are self portraits that were bitmapped and blown up until I found interesting and pleasing patterns. If you are someone who is interested in metaphysics and in examining the “thing in itself” you may enjoy some of this work. I would say Kant is kind of a dork, but he is still interesting to read especially if to inform yourself on how he gets things wrong. I recomend St. Thomas Aquinas, Aristotle, and the lectures by Jay Dyer if you want a better examination of metaphysics.

Reading Walker Percy wouldn’t hurt either.

Post Art School piece that was the culmination of my drywall painting series. The red rags was a good visual choice and I certainly got that shirt right before this piece was documented. I saw Loma Prieta play in a small warehouse storefront that no longer exists. The painting is drywall patch on wood panel and it has aged better than expected. It’s installed at a private residence. XXXX

This is the beginning of a series in which I objectively examine relationship between people in a post internet age. I have removed all dialogue and replaced with ways of blocking the viewer from fully understanding the situation through my bias, hopefully causing the viewer to objectively examine the aesthetic properties of a deeply personal situation being uprooted and placed into a position of dissection publicly.

In 2015 I was into some really corny stuff. I thought DMT was deep and the idea of the “self” was simply an abstraction of the chemical reaction in your brain. I have since renounced this position and am more focused on the metaphysical and epistemic truth. I also don’t drink, smoke, or do drugs anymore. XXX
